Tapping up - The Barca specialty.

Afternoon All,

Santi Cazorla has most probably landed in London already as he prepares for his medical which is taking place either today or tomorrow. The fact that he is taking his medical means that we have agreed a fee with Malaga after much uncertainty regarding their ownership. I'm still not going to go overboard in terms of excitement until the deal is on Arsenal.com and Arsene and Cazorla have given their first interviews. Anything can still go wrong. He could fail his medical, another club could hijack the deal, he might decline personal terms (even though some reports suggest they have been agreed already). None of these are likely but we brace ourselves for the worst. Once we announce it, I will be absolutely thrilled but no doubt I will expect more signings.

Barcelona player Sergio Busquets - currently taking part at the 2012 Olympics for synchronised diving, along with Ashley Young - has already tapped up Alex Song. They used the same method over and over and over and over again for the last few years with Cesc Fabregas to a point where we just let him go. I hate players that do that and it seems to be a Spanish thing in particular. Mikel Arteta recently did the same with Santi Cazorla. I'm not saying players shouldn't talk up the quality of players but they shouldn't do it while that player is being linked with your club. Its not ethical and is not really allowed either.

We are also in for Nuri Sahin but there is something holding that deal up. Either Real are waiting to sign Modric before they let him go or we are trying to get a option to buy deal inserted in the deal. It would be a very smart signing, one which would allow Wilshere to ease his way back in and wouldn't hamper the future of any upcoming youth players.

Other than that there is nothing else happening today - Giroud gave an interview to Arsenal.com about winning the title despite being underdogs.

'Till Tomorrow
