Arsenal are poised to complete the signing of Santi Cazorla early next week. It has been delayed due to the confusion at Malaga. Apparently they don't know who is supposed to sign off on the deal. He is going to be included in the squad to go to Germany and the delay is not expected to hiccup the deal permanently. It is quite frustrating but the deal is as close to completion as possible. Usually clubs announce the signing before the formalities are complete but that isn't Arsenal's way.
We are obviously looking to make 100% sure of the deal before the announcement. Example of this is the Vela sale. Real Sociedad have announced the deal, paraded him in front of the press and he has had his first interview yet we haven't confirmed his sale. The paperwork is clearly not complete. I don't have a problem with that. If we had announced the deal and it suddenly saw a complication then fans would go crazy. I can just picture the banners with 'Gazidis and Wenger out!'. Better safe than sorry.
Marca are reporting that the Sahin loan deal is 'close to completion' the only thing holding it up is agreeing on the percentage each club will pay of his wages. If we can sign both players I think we would have one of the deepest midfield's in the world. But the deals aren't complete so that article is for a later time.
Robin Van Persie is reportedly impressed with the club's ambition. As I said if we sign both of those players and maybe a full back and he still leaves we will know its for the money. I would still accept a back pedal from him. If he stays and bangs in the goals then all will be forgiven. He has chosen to come on the Germany tour which is encouraging, even though it is his duty to come if we choose him. We still pay his wages so no excuse.
Nothing else than that today. Its relatively quiet.
'Till Tomorrow
