Afternoon all,
Arsenal.com have released pictures of the training session yesterday and featured prominently is Robin Van Persie. There are a couple of individual photos of him smiling and another couple of him talking to other players. It is as though nothing ever happened. But that's Arsenal for you, when a player of importance releases a damning statement about the club he supposedly loves, don't be firm with him. Don't put him in his place. Just act as though nothing ever happened and move on, only for the player to eventually be sold.
According to The Times, Arsene Wenger has made a 9mil bid for Paulinho of Corinthians. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about him and I'm not going to waste my time looking at YouTube clips. All I know is that he is a midfielder and has a pretty stupid name. Don't take this too seriously though, I don't think Wenger particularly likes Brazilian players that haven't had experience in Europe.
Rennes president Saint-Sernin has insisted that there has been no official offers for Yann M'Vila. I'm not sure I believe him, I think we have made a bid and I think that he is trying to invite more offers. He was banking on a good Euro tournament to drive up the interest and price, but that hasn't worked out for him. I still quite fancy M'Vila and think he'd be a shrewd piece of business, but there hasn't been any fresh speculation which either means the deal has fallen through or is being tied up, whichever way you want to look at it.
Finally, in some unrelated Arsenal news, Newcastle are close to wrapping up a move for Debuchy of Lille. Great business on their part and a player who could have been a great hep next season for us with Sagna out injured.
That's about it for today. There are some rumours that Ignasi Miquel is being lined up by Barca after being bought from them a few years ago. I don't know what the point is in them selling any of their players. They just buy them back after a few seasons elsewhere for a huge price.
'Till Tomorrow
