Quiet Times; Ganso Linked; Pre-season Game

Sorry for the late post, been a hectic day.

A quick round up then..

Santos playmaker Ganso has been linked with a move to the Arsenal today. He is a creative, flair player - typical Brazilian. He has 8 caps for the National Team and is regarded very highly by coaches around the world. He has been linked to Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Tottenham in the past, but having undergone a torrid spell of injuries and bad form, interest has cooled. Therefore, we have raced to the front of the queue for his signature. He is valued at around 20mil but could go for less due to the aforementioned injuries/form loss.

We have really missed a trademark creative midfielder since Cesc left. This is why players such as Alex Song have had to step up their creative game lately, and Robin Van Persie also providing moments of genius.  I would think that we play with a lot of width, with two pacy wingers whipping crosses into the box. But once in a while, that tactic doesn't work and more moments of genius are needed. This is where that creative talent comes in and where Song was so effective last year. Sure he slacked off a bit defensively, but you cannot fault his effort to fill Cesc's shoes.

Today is Arsenal's first pre-season game/s against the Saints and Anderlecht. A few seniors will be involved as well as last season's loanees and some younger players. I would like to think Chamakh will put in a blinder so he can find a buyer. I wonder if Anderlecht's Lucas Biglia will be closely watched by Arsene, he seems a classy player.

Other than the consistent rumours that Robin will do a 'Rooney'- style u-turn, there isn't much happening today.

'Till Tomorrow
